I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Describing myself will be done the best by telling the things that hold my interest: Jesus Christ, my children, my husband, my church and missions; cookbooks, praise dancing, flowers & friends; the mountains, the ocean, a good steak and more; an eclectic mix of music...it's a list without end!
My favorite quote: "There is not in the world a kind of life more sweet and delightful than that of a continual conversation with God." - Brother Lawrence Another favorite quote: "When you get to the place where He's (Jesus) all you have, you'll find He's all you need" --I wish I knew who said THAT, but I don't! If you happen to know, please write and tell me.

My Interests

I am a dabbler in all things-master of none!

I'd like to meet:

Corrie Ten Boom, St. Joan of Arc, Lydia-'seller of purple' (from the Bible), Joni Ericson Tada, Mother Theresa, Brother Lawrence, Billy Graham, Helen Keller,. . .the list goes on!

Music:

Wow, I like lots of music, and it depends upon the mood I am in as to what I am listening. Twila Paris, Sandi Patty, Barbara Streisand, Celine Dion, Ginny Owens, Jars of Clay, Diana Krall, Chicago, The Eagles, Billy Joel, Watermark, Darlene Szcheck, Josh Groban, Vickie Beeching, Casting Crowns. . .and on, and on, and on!

Movies:

I love, love, love old movie musicals like "Oklahoma", "Carosel", "Kiss Me Kate", "Seven Brides For Seven Brothers", etc.; I love the Matrix trilogy, "The Island", "Finding Nemo" (ok, I really like animated children's movies), "The Little Mermaid", "Beauty & the Beast", LOTR, "The Village"; I enjoy most action (ditch the filthy language, though), sci-fi, mystery & suspense.

Television:

Very little time for TV, however, the whole family knows where to find me when '24' is on! American Idol is also on my favorites list as well as House, CSI, Medium, Whose Line Is It Anyway and The Gospel Music Channel.

Books:

The Bible; This Present Darkness & Piercing the Darkness by Frank Peretti; The Left Behind series by Jerry Jenkins & Tim Layhaye; Balcony People by Joyce Landoff Heatherly; In the Grip of Grace, He Chose the Nails & Tell Me the Stories by Max Lucado; The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis; The Angelwalk Trilogy by Roger Elwood; Jesus Freaks (DC Talk with Voice of the Martyrs)I'm currently reading "The New Rebellion". It's sort of a devotional collection and it's packed with tons of quotes, real life stories, resources and scripture. I'm also finishing up the Circle Trilogy (Black, Red, White), by Ted Dekker -SUPER- I highly recommend them - especially to all my friends who love "alternate reality" type stories or suspense novels.

Heroes:

In addition to those listed that I'd like to meet, my heroes include my Savior & Lord, Jesus Christ, my mama & daddy (who now make their home in Heaven), my husband, Jim & his mother, Velma, my 'adopted mama', Mrs. Liz. My other heroes are all the middle school, high school & college Christian students who make a conscious effort to affect their homes & schools for the sake of Christ Jesus. ". . .As a matter of fact, do everything that way, heartily and freely to God's glory. At the same time, don't be callous in your exercise of freedom, thoughtlessly stepping on the toes of those who aren't as free as you are. I try my best to be considerate of everyone's feelings in all these matters; I hope you will be, too." 1 Corinthians 10:32
