BEAUTY NOT POWER

About Me

I love the smell of fresh coffee and warm croissants in the morning, I love the feeling you get at train stations knowing you could go anywhere, I love to travel and then to come home again, I love the knowledge that home is where ever there are people to wish you sweet dreams, I love outdoor showers, I love afternoon naps, I love harmless banter with a stranger, I love crisp winter days, I love art exhibition posters, I love history, I love large glasses of red wine, I love Vogue, I love aubergines, I love ballet, I love Italian coffee, I love antique shops, I love the films of Federico Fellini, Bernardo Bertolucci and Pedro Almodovar, I love cycle paths, I love long summer evenings, I love black and white photos, I love Oxford, I love big umbrellas, I love hand-written letters, I love old vinyl
I also love Rome
I hate selfishness, ingratitude and lazyness, I hate awkward silences, I hate prejudice, I hate chauvinism and "old boys", I hate the obsession with weight, I hate fear.

My Interests

PHOTOS These photos have been a recent project. I don't like the photography groups in which people just enjoy ripping the piss out of what you've done. I don't care if I've used photoshop or I've got the composition/light/focus wrong. I just want photos that make an impact or make me smile. Have a look at "My Pics" and let me know what you think. Here's my most recent:

"Her complexion is of a glowing bloom,
with a superior degree of fairness;
the contour of the face, the form of the mouth;
the nose, that between Grecian nd Roman,
is lovelier than either; the etherial smile on the lip,
and the bright glance of intelligence and joy."
~Anna Seward

"Hope is a thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings a tune without words
And never stops at all.

And sweetest, in the gale is heard
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That keeps so many warm.

I've heard it in the chiiliest land
And on the strangest sea
Yet, never, in extremity
It ask a crumb of me."
~Emily Dickinson
