MUSIC MANIFESTO

Resident DJs at TESCO DISCO are Chris Flatline (Cosey), Kitten (Club Bohemia), Emily Strange (Being Boiled / Client), Tet Yap (Being Boiled) and Anna V.

The music can broadly be described as Post Punk, generally considered to describe a wide range of groups with artistic and experimental intent, let loose around 1978-84, thanks to the original punk movement's 'wrecking ball' effect on popular culture.

The name 'TESCO DISCO' itself originated with one of our favourite bands, Throbbing Gristle - the original Industrial Muzak (another term they invented themselves).

Whilst certainly centered around the 1980s, our tastes do extend both back into the past and right up to the present day. Expect to hear anything that combines experimental with just plain mental.

ART MANIFESTO

There is not one particular form, type or genre that suits Tesco Disco's artistic endeavours and likes. From Japanese anime to fine art pencil drawings, all is welcome and intriguing in itself as to how it can work within our post-punk electronica bubble.

Artists with a love for the experimental and artists with a love for tradition can seek solace and freedom of thought from Tesco Disco. We are not solely concerned with the non-commercial but then a leap into purely known artistic territories is not our main aim. Passion, a high calibre of talent and most importantly a genuine, intrinsic reason and motivation behind the artist's work is of utmost inspiration to us. Please. Come and share.

FASHION MANIFESTO

Garments are a second skin, echoing what we feel and perceive. Our ethos is based on strong tailoring and architectural lines - interpreted individually; manifested visually. Rip the Vionnet , slash the Slimane. Raid the Doors, trust your pineal eye. We embrace fashion as a pure form; sourced from areas that invite the darker, dangerous side of self expression. Clothing can challenge artistic and physical boundaries - we want to explore the progressive; using music and other creative platforms to achieve our aims. We welcome creative collaborations with the fashion community.
