AWOL is a workshop of artists, activists and revolutionaries. If you're poor, working class, of color, a woman or otherwise oppressed, you resist this corrupt system every day. We provide a space for marginalized voices to be heard, a place to resist and grow through the exposure of the heinous truths of this dehumanizing system, as well as hope for the new world we will create. The views expressed here are not necessarily those of the organizations that funded the mag. We know what we are putting forth is controversial; it's supposed to be. These are the raw voices of oppressed people who are, literally and figuratively, under the gun.AWOL Magazine is a place for revolutionary dialogue, growth, discussion, support, creation. AWOL stands in direct opposition to racism, class-ism, sexism, homophobia and heterosexism, imperialism, militarism, or any of those isms, and schisms. Art, music or writings submitted to AWOL should not have any derogatory or degrading language in it. This system is the real offense, and it only uses these divisions to keep us weak.
