I got into punk back in 1978 when I first saw Wendy O Williams and the PLASMATICS on PBS of all things, she blew my mind and I told my mom I wanted to get a mohawk after I saw their TV concert. I didnt jump right into punk it took me awhile to go thru some phases mainly new wave but that was part of my stepping stone. In 1984 I was going to Medusas which was a new wave/punk all ages hang out and started meeting my friends that you see on my list now. The first night I went there I ran into the nazi skinheads called C.A.S.H. and told them where to stick their ideas im lucky they didnt kick my little vegetarian ass that night I was all by myself and there had to be about 13 or so of them they were trying to talk me into shaving my new wave hair and joining their crew I was like "no fucking way".
When I did get my mohawk was in 1985 after going to see the DEAD KENNEDYS play on halloween and things got so crazy for my life I cant even wirte all of it down here and the time I went OI just so much insanity that I would have to write a god damn book about it all.
I knew the RAMONES thru my ex-wife Roxy Ramone, the last time I hung out with them was on the shoot for Substitute in Los Angeles where I was living with Cyndi at that time. Johnny called me before the album was made and asked me what was my favorite WHO album which lead to a long drawn out joke on my part when I kept asking Johnny "Who?" till Johnny got pissed and I told him Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncey. Johnny was sure id say Quadraphina which I never liked because im a rocker and not a mod. He assumed because I am a Skinhead that I would be into mod stuff. He liked that album and asked me to pick a song off it I told him they are all good but I thought the most punk song on there would be Boris and the Spider which he said he didnt like but he did go with my album choice. At the set of the video I hung out with CJay mainly and insulted Lemmy from Motorhead. Joey waited till Johnny left with Marky to talk to me about Linda who I have never met but spoke to on the phone. Joey really hated Johnny up till the end and its sad because I kept telling Joey that Linda wasnt worth the band breaking up over. Lemmy was hanging on the side clueless about the stiuation with in the band till me and Joey were talking. I saw them for the last time in Chicago at their Adios Amigos tour Johnny put me on the guest list but didnt want me back stage this time so I couldnt talk to Joey again. Joey was really cool in my book and Johnny even tho he was right wing wasnt a bad guy ethier. I will miss those times and miss Cyndi for the person she once was.I own a 13 year old tarantula named spider she is my only pet.I dont get alot of sleep since I got put on the swing shift at my job so youll see me on at odd hours.
