About Me

Púpeepop was born in Tacoma to three lucky individuals on St Patrick’s Day 2006. At 510 pounds Púpeepop packs quite a poppy punch. Mixing one part Modest Mouse, one part The Police, and one part Michael Jackson, Púpeepop is colored in simplicity, mystery, and nostalgia. Lead vocalist and guitarist, Jack Straws’ longing voice and guitar arrangements provoke climactic energy and sustain both band vitality and audience satisfaction. Unknown bassist/vocalist Blue Ninja’s impending electric bass is eerie yet thrilling. Red headed pseudo-Brit, Wonton, holds down the foundation with his classic pop vocal sensibility and driving dance hall back beats that make not break this indie pop-rock noise brigade. Púpeepop has enjoyed a satisfactory first year of life, heard and seen by audiences is Seattle/Tacoma venues such as Shakabrah Java, The Kickstand Café, Bob’s Java Jive, The ShureShot café, and has even rocked an outdoor rooftop gig at Crescent Lake. Púpeepop’s short yet well seasoned existence has harbored such success that the band spent early 2007 in London Bridge Studios recording a professional demo with local rocker/producer Jason Ott in hopes that it will catapult their rare sound to the masses. Those who are lucky enough to experience the thrilling cacophony that is Púpeepop, never cease to be overwhelmed with a desire to dance and more often then not, leave shows graced with a chronic grin.
