When I was a kid my parents tried to get me to listen to the Gaither Band, I ended up sneaking stuff like Striper and Bon Jovi in the house. Then I started listening to U2, after that it was MTV baby! (when it used to be 24/7 music videos). Then there was VH1. I am just now begining to like country. Other than that, Jazz, Hip Hop, R&B, Rock, Reggae, Inde, Emo, Alternative, whatever is out there that fits the mood at the time.
