Bennett, Colorado is a small plains community situated 30 miles to the east of Denver. Some years ago, the local skaters raised $5,000 to construct a small skatepark, which was built by members of the community. Today, the park is in bad shape. The metal mini ramp is rusted, warped, and dangerous, the slab is cracked, and the pyramid has a hole the size of a softball at the top of it. So, the skaters of Bennett, the Colorado Coalition for Public Skateparks (CCPS), and the town have teamed up to rebuild the park, and to do it with the same DIY ethic the people of Bennett have always had. Members of Team Pain 's concrete crew have volunteered their time and labor to this project, so the new park is sure to be one of Colorado's best. The park renovations call for a real pool replica, complete with pool coping, tiles, and shallow end stairs, as well as a street course. Your donation to the "Town of Bennett / Skatepark" fund will be used entirely for materials, as all labor will be donated by local skateboarders, professional skatepark builders, and the town's people. Your donation will give the skaters of Bennett the opportunity to skate at a world class skatepark in a town where youth activities are desperately needed.
