I am here for Dating, Serious Relationships, Friends and Networking

About Me

This is new to me and I'm giving it a shot so be patient.I'm sure I'll tweek this and it will get better as time goes on. I'm here for the same reason everyone else is.....Things I love: The laughter of children...... Exploring nature........ Going "out" for breakfast on weekends.... Good cup of Joe (strong & black)..... Obscure or Foreign movies.... White wine.... Whipping up a delicious meal for me and that special person... Traveling to new destinations....... Taking photographs.... Camping out when it is full moon...... The sound of rain on a tin roof..... Chess, checkers, board games..... Animals, especially dogs..... A day at Knoebels.... Rollercoasters..... Going on long walks with good company..... Picnic lunch at secluded places....... Eating Chinese or Mexican food....... Pizza...... Tacos...... Mmmmmm..... Yum.

My Interests

I love Adventure...its the spice of life. You can add that spice to every aspect of life. Its what keeps a relationship alive, if two people want that.... I like Wine Tasting, Music, going to Brew Pubs, Museums, Art ,History,Military History (I'm a Civil War Reenacter),Cooking,Travel, Vacations,Reenactments, AirShows,Reading,Camping, Hiking,Biking,Social Anthropology(People watching)...and getting lost...whether on an unknown road, in the woods, or wrapped up in the arms of a woman. I love Travel. I have traveled in Ireland. I've been to Copper Canyon in Mexico. I've driven across and around the United States on my own and enjoy seeing new places and meeting new people. I love sharing knowledge and being receptive to things people can teach me. I have an interest in taking a Mediteranian cruise or touring the old country of Italy someday.... (Venice,Pompeii,Capri,Sorento,Rome etc.) and see the WWI and WWII battlefields in Europe.... Also I would love to go to Australia or New Zealand...trouble is if I went I probably wouldn't come back.

I'd like to meet:

I'm looking to meet people that have the same interests and desires in life as myself. As far as WOMEN: I'm looking to make a woman laugh and smile and be her bright spot. To take the risks and share the adventure, fun and joys in life with her. Have the chemistry of lust and respect (yes, you can have both when its right). A woman who has a desire to desire the same thing.A woman that will be determined to maintain whatever it takes to make life between us feel like fine music.I guess I'm looking for that one in a million that knows what I am talking about here. I don't want the "perfect" woman...blah, "perfect" sounds so boring. SuperModels take a hike! I want the girl next door even if she lives 90 minutes or 9 states away (lol...well make it closer if you can...) Hey...when I grew up the girl next door was hot...but she was no SuperModel. A woman's zest for living makes her desirable. To me thats "hot". She has to have spunk. ...and brains or at least good wits about her. Also: I'm not attaching "friends" to my sight unless I have at least talked to them and feel comfortable with them listing their name under my site. In other words I've got to feel they are genuine acquaintances or friends.INDIVIDUALS I'd like to meet: Mark Twain, Yogi Berra

Music:

I like all kinds of music except hip hop/rap, SOME jazz, and SOME country. I mostly like Classic rock and R&B from the 60's,70's, and 80's, Southern Fried rock.I love when you hear a song that the radio rarely plays that will bring back a special feeling from the past.I listen to music with diversity ranging from Seal to Clannad to Heart to The Temptations to The Steve Miller Band to Lenny Kravitz to Classical music and Irish ballads. My favorite movie soundtrack are the "The Blues Brothers" and "The Promise" Favorite Album is SEAL IV ....can't live without that one!

Movies:

I have an unusual taste in movies.... I like movies that have a good plot and great acting.. Does Hollywood remember those days? Actually, I tend to go for Independent Films, Foreign Movies, Military movies, Historical Dramas and older movies.... anything different and interesting... I even like sappy love stories if they are believable (and create the desired effect) : )Some I like...Atonement, There Will Be Blood,Glory,The Promise,Braveheart,Catch-22, Dark Blue World,The Lighthorsemen,The Sixth Sense,The Good the Bad and the Ugly,The Last of the Mohicans,Airplane,Bullitt, Rob Roy,The Blue Max, Little Big Man,The Mothman Prophesies,The Blues Brothers,Where Eagles Dare, 1941,Dark City, Monty Python and The Holy Grail, A Very Long Engagement,Black Book and many many more....

Television:

Generally prefer not to watch much TV. Too mind numbing. I like shows on travel, food, history, nature. I watch mostly PBS and channels that show the above. Comedies I like are reruns of Seinfeld,The Family Guy, Scrubs and King of Queens.

Books:

Its hard for me to dedicate much time to reading anymore......But I mostly enjoy biographies and history....also some fiction and science fiction.I'm not a huge Stephen King fan but one of my favorite novels has been "The Stand" and the Bachman Books.

Heroes:

Heroes are hard to find these days,we have so many arrogant, self righteous, ego driven people running the show these days....My Heroes:The Marines(and others) that fought in the Pacific during WWII....actually all the ones who sacrificed at this time(The Greatest Generation)...And generally all the fighting men throughout our history that helped to preserve and maintain our benefits and rights we have today... And also Lori V. is a hero of mine.
