Leo Cesari Born in Rome, sun of jazz pianist Umberto Cesari" ... in the 1950's, thirty years old, he astonishes Italy with his incredible technique and is considered the best Italian pianist... " Jazz Inchiesta Italia, pg.145, by Enrico Cogno.He starts playing the drums when he is five. In the 80's he plays in Rome in various clubs and he becomes the drummer of the Bluesman ROBERTO CIOTTI. He creates with Stefano Sastro ( Ares 2, Alex Britti etc.), Roberto Galinelli( Riccardo Cocciante, Gianni Morandi etc.), and Fabio Tullio, the quartet NEWS with which he will go to the Festival dei Due Mondi (Spoleto Festival) in 1988 playing for the dancer Elisabetta Terabust on the choreographies of Franco Miseria. He works with SERGIO CAMMARIERE with whom he will play intensely in Italy and abroad ( Rio De Janeiro ) for the opening of the club " TEATRO " in Ipanema. Back in Italy in 1989 he will continue working with CAMMARIERE and in 1990 becomes the drummer of Heather Parisi's group DIRTY TRICK, playing for various TV programs as " Buon Compleanno Canale 5 ". From the Dirty Trick he will found with Federico Zampaglione the group " TIROMANCYNO " and he will start a very intense activity live and in the studio, playing for more than 500 concerts in the most important clubs and recording four singles, two videos, and an album for BMG ARIOLA: " CAPPUCCETO ROSSO ", " AL TELEFONO ", of which he is the co/author, " SEGUIMI ", " AFRICA DANCE " and " TIROMANCYNO ". For the editor Bideri the CD " INSISTO " of which he is the co/author with DANIELE SILVESTRI of the song " QUATTRO BARCHE, GRANDI NERE ". In 1991/92 they will play in order to promote in all the most important radios Red Ronnies tour " BE BOP A LULA SOTTO LA TENDA ". They also are the supporter group of LUCA CARBONI in his tour FISICO BESTIALE 1992. In 1993 he will open with STEFANO SASTRO, MARCO SINISCALCO and SIMONE DE SANTIS the recording studio " Windy Music ". There he will meet Alex Britti with whom he will start an intense work which will carry them to Alex's first hit " SOLO UNA VOLTA O TUTTA LA VITA ", first in the charts during the whole summer 1998.Meanwhile he is the co/author with SERGIO CAMMARIERE of a few soundtracks for the movie " COLPO DI SOLE ", by CLAUDIO FRAGASSO with LUCA LIONELLO.He is the author of the soundtrack of the tv series " LA PIOVRA 6 " which has been one of the first and bmost successful tv series in Italy. He composes the music for " MAR DEL VINO " by ODDONE CAPPELLINO a monologue made for the theatre with LUCA LIONELLO. (Torino Teatro Erba 1996 ). He composes the music for " DIARIO INTIMO DI SALLY MARA " by R. QUENEAU ( Roma Teatro Dell' Orologio 1997 ).He works with ANDREA GUERRA and composes the following soundtracks: " THE PROTAGONIST " by LUCA GUADAGNINO, with Tilda Swinton. " LE FATE IGNORANTI " by F. OZPETEK, with Stefano Accorsi.He composes the soudtrack for the movie " GENNARO STRUMMOLO CITTADINO DEL NORD " by MASSIMO COSTA, with LUCREZIA LANTE DELLA ROVERE.He plays the percussions in the group LABYRINTO created by PAOLO PANDOLFO, organism of viole da gamba playing music from the Renaissance. ( Spain 1998 ).He plays the drums in the group " I SOLISTI DI ROMA " founded by MASSIMO COEN. ( Civita Festival, Teatro dei Servi, Roma 1998 ).He has recorded various sessions with MASSIMO NUNZI, Trombe Rosse.He creates a trio, with ALESSANDRO GWISS ( AIRES TANGO, GIANNI MORANDI etc. ) and LEONARDO DE ANGELIS, guitar player who is well known and regarded throughout Europe who teaches classic guitar in the Conservatorio in Perugia which is considered one of the most prestigious music 'university ' in Italy.
