About Me

Hmmm... I moved here from WV in Sept '05... I'm a single mom and proud of it!! :D I'm a waitress at a local restaurant. Do I like my job? Sure, the money's great but as for all you mean people out there.... never tick off the person that prepares your food! :P No, I've never done anything mean but it's fun to say LOL I totally love the rock music scene here... so unlike home, where it's all about country. I'd be totally broke and evicted by now, living in a shelter somewhere if I went to every cool show this summer... even the local coverbands are awesome.
I'm usually quiet around strangers but if I know you, I'm pretty talkative. I love to laugh and hang out with my family and friends. I'm the VP of the school PTO, den mommy in my son's cub scout den, a chess mom and even though my 9-year-old can kick my butt, I love going to tournaments to watch him play. I love music... it's always been a part of my life. I can be sarcastic... especially when I'm asked "Where are you from?" After a year of being asked almost daily where I got the sweet/darling/sexy accent... I have few nice answers left. No, technically I'm not southern... though basically anything in the US is southern to me now, West Virginia is NOT a southern state. Do they not study the Civil War up here? Just saying...
I love... Snoopy! From stuffed animals to a tattoo, I've got it all... but still collect him. He's awesome! I collect things with the Union Jack on it and I love gothic or medieval-looking stuff. I love patchouli and sandalwood incense. I draw and paint from time to time, though time is definitely the operative word there... there's just not enough of it.

My Interests

Reading horror or ancient history, some tv, PC, love Medieval Faires, would love to vacation to England someday, love thunderstorms. I like both country and city life, love the beach, specificially Myrtle Beach. Going to the movies... action, adventure-type movies or comedies, some chick-flicks but not many.

I'd like to meet:

Def Leppard!! Anne Rice, Alice Cooper, George Carlin, Laurell K Hamilton... and then the impossible ones... Richard the Lionheart, William Wallace, Freddie Mercury and Shakespeare

Music:

Big fan of most 70's and 80's rock, esp. Def Leppard, Queen, David Bowie, LA Guns. The list could go on forever if I named them all. But then on the other hand, I like pretty much everything from Joe Cocker to Elvis to Mozart and Beethoven... just not country. Then there's the local music scene... check out my friends in Cherry Pie and Photograph.... both bands are amazing!! :P

Movies:

Interview With The Vampire, Lord Of The Rings, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Breakfast Club, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Encino Man, Spinal Tap, Cheech and Chong, Labyrinth, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation :-)~

Television:

I don't even have cable LOL What's the point in sitting in front of a box rotting your brain when you can be outside? :P

Books:

Anita Blake series by Laurell Hamilton

What a long strange trip it's been

Well, I'm home... 14 hours down, 5 hours rest and 14 back. Ran into some terrible thunderstorms both ways but we're safe and sound.
