LIFE AS WAR was founded at the end of 2004 by four ex members of Driven By Hate and the singer of Strength of Despair. After the departure of one of the guitarists at the beginning of 2007, a good friend of theirs and ex bass player of Dawn Of Suffering came to complete the team.

005 was the year things really started out for Life As War with the release of a 4 track demo which received a positive feedback. By the time summer of 2005 showed up, the band had enough songs to go around the country and play shows with the likes of As We Fight, Born From Pain, Despise, Lowlife and Fall of Serenity.
In 2006, they recorded their first full length album ULTIMA RATIO (at the Audio Strike Studio in Vevey) and played lots of other shows with bands such as One last chance, Walls of Jericho, Sentence, Maroon, Solid Ground, State of Mind and Abusive Action.
We play a pissed off groovy and rhythmical Hardcore and give everything we possibly can when we have the opportunity to play shows. We feel it’s important to be able to speak through our music about taboo themes (suicide, old age, etc.) and be able to raise awareness towards these social problems. As much as we love hardcore, we remain deeply critical towards the movement and towards ourselves, an attitude that hasn’t always been very well received. Having played lots of shows in our country, we would love to have the opportunity to play shows in foreign countries and share our passion, preoccupations and hopes with other people. Our first album ULTIMA RATIO is a DIY production, thus we think that being able to create freely without any outside pressure on our work is important. It is representative of our ethic, everyone should learn to think by themselves and do their own thing. We are currently working on a second album or EP.
We are a band drawn together by everyday life and are friends before being musicians. These bonds unite us on and off stage and through our music.
