About Me

Nurse formed two years ago in the city of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Houston Smith, Jon Sholl, and Jake McGrew were all previously in the tri-city-renowned military-reggae hair-metal interpretive dance band Sonorus. They decided to start a new project with defunct lead singer Drew Etienne formerly of the jazz-rock new-age opera band Seraphim. The four began their terrible god-like collaboration and wrote their first album "Walking Past" which was released in August 2004 with little to no acclaim. After much gigging around the Ft. Wayne area, the band packed up their knitting kits and beer and took their music elsewhere. A tour was scheduled for the Fall/Winter of 2005. Nurse trudged through Indy, Cincy, Buffalo, Syracuse, Ithaca, New York City (including the moderately legendary CBGB's), Washington DC, Philadelphia, and Atlanta over the span of 2 months. Upon returning they resumed writing for their second LP which should be finished and released by summer, and may or may not be the best thing since low-fat carb-free whole wheat sliced bread. Stay tuned for the next album, and keep an eye out for shows around the beautiful state of Indiana!
