TIME TO RECORD

About Me

"With the release of their debut 'Riot Lovers' EP, Philadelphia's papertrigger have crashed into people lives with an astounding and relentless energy, drawing comparisons to such acts as Blackheart Procession, Beirut, Ben Folds Five and late-era Radiohead.
Their songs and live show carry an undeniably epic quality about them, and yet pull on universal feelings that you'd be hard-pressed not to give in to. Theirs is a ghostly and intricate universe, full of winsome tides of raw energy, soaring guitars, haunted group chants and marching band pomp.
Fans have appropriately nicknamed their song styling "bar-brawl music", because it's music they feel you might hear during a bar fight. Granted, it's not a bar you'd be likely to find in this time period, or on this planet, but a bar nonetheless.

"The Philadelphia five piece, papertrigger, produce a raw, energetic rock sound that's epic and sometimes eerie. Pounding drums and larger-than-life group vocals push their way through the mix to create a wildly aggressive and enormous sound.
The five tracks on their debut EP Riot Lovers leave a lasting impression..."

NPR.ORG
"Riot Lovers could have been recorded in an old western saloon on Neptune. Papertrigger's distinctive combination of soulful vocals, guttural baselines, and crashing drums is too immense to fit into any genre. Infectious indie rock..."

SPIN.COM
"(Riot Lovers) is a solid piece of mess that you can’t help but keep coming back to. Full of the old and new, filthy and beautiful in one breath, Philadelphia should be proud to have such an outstanding talent in its arsenal. Highly recommended.”

TRANSFORM ONLINE
"Papertrigger’s live performance is exactly what one would hope for after listening to the studio versions of the songs: loud, full, diversely epic... each member reacts physically to each note they play, enhancing the primal, animalistic qualities of the music - a sure to blossom group."
T-SIDES
"What do they sound like? Put it this way: If we were on a boat with a bunch of Vikings looking for some giant squid to kill, this is what would be playing. It would be madness, and it would be wonderful.
...They’ll blow your nuts off."

DAILYCANDY
"Papertrigger are a young Philadelphia band that make Art Rock— the muscular, orchestral, dense, surprising, clashing sound of young men understanding the chaos of the world.
…There’s plenty of potential here."

POPMATTERS.COM
"Philadelphia's papertrigger make enormous music...which is one of their charms - they go for it, big time."
