Elect the Tree Surgeon

This is the spot where im supposed to blow myself in third person like, "DJ Elect is the premiere party/underground/pee-your-pants DJ of Austin TX. He got his start as an infant with pots and pans..." but Im not gonna do that. I will tell ya that I dont really do gigs anymore because they don't pay any money, and "doing it for the love" is getting old. People seem to respect others for the wrong reasons these days. Most DJ's that I know don't get paid, and when they do its peanuts compared to the DJ's with top 40 playlists. Proper respect to all my people still struggling to make it in the underground.So what do I do? I make tunes here and there, some DnB some breaks and some hip-hop. I share with my friends and anyone who would like copies and put them to good use. Don't be shy if you want a copy, just ask.I got a little tired of trying to be something Im not in the underground music scene , and I feel like I've outgrown some of my old tricks, habits, haunts. Time to put the toys away. But I will always love the construction of sound and keep on doing things the way I see fit, despite what main steam underground is into.Im getting ready to go back to school (fall 08, because I know I won't update this for awhile) majoring in political science and minoring in philosophy at Texas State University. Maybe law school after that, but Im going to take one step at a time.
