About Me

www.laquitacleare.com LaQuita Cleare is working to become an actress that is consistently recognized for her performances both on the big and small screens. She was born in Chicago, IL and began taking ballet and gymnastics classes at the age of 5. The acting bug bit soon after when her mother enrolled her in a local acting class. As a child she loved to perform in front of others. “I used to perform in front of my family and my Grandmother would make everyone give me money when I was finished.” She performed in plays throughout junior high and high school always feeling a rush of energy when onstage. After graduating from high school, she went on to receive a B.A. in Theatre and B.S. in Psychology from Loyola University of Chicago. While in college she began auditioning for plays and doing commercials and industrials in the city. She has performed in plays ranging from Shakespeare to the annual Playwrights fest at Pegasus Players. After college before moving to L.A. LaQuita wanted the experience of traveling abroad. By herself, she ventured to Morocco, Spain, and Portugal for one month. Upon returning, just six months after graduating from college LaQuita arrived in L.A. with two suitcases in hand ready to make her mark. She has been in commercials, T.V. shows, and films. LaQuita is also currently in the film, “Son Up” which has been in the Pan African Film Fest, Palm Springs, Dance With Films Fest, Cinequest, Harlem Int, Norway Int. Film Fest, and others. Look out for her in the film, “Sister’s Keeper” with Eric Roberts. Currently she is producing her second short, which is a comedy. LaQuita is a professional salsa dancer and teaches salsa lessons in her spare time.
