About Me

As a DJ, ADDY is known for three things: exceptional technique, frequent use of three turntables and making you pay attention. His rammed out residencies at Torontos top clubs (including the Guvernment) prove its a formula that keeps dance floors wanting more and earns him the respect of some of the worlds best DJs.

Admired for both track selection and programming ADDYs sets are deep, heavy bass-lines infused with diva-esque vocals and grounded in driving, rolling beats. His style is hard to tell, at that point where dark meets melodic and dirty meets sweet. There are hints of electro and Spanish guitar and audiences always go off. His annual XMAS CD compilation is historic in Toronto as it is renowned for its ballsy, tongue in cheek surprise cut. The 2004 edition is still talked about. After 40 minutes of mind blowing music the mix cuts into Punjabi Power Hour radio show, in a way that is funny as well as classy and very intelligent.

He has played alongside the cr..me de la cr..me of the international DJ world including legends like Frankie Knuckles, Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox and David Morales and new legends like Steve Lawler, Sandy Rivera, BT, and Bad Boy Bill. ADDY has also played internal gigs: mexico, US, Belgrade Serbia, EXIT FESTIVAL (NOVI SAD)

ADDY found house music at 17 when he first heard former Industry nightclub owner and A.D/D co-owner, Mario J (then called Super Mario) play at a rave. Soon he was a regular, studying the techniques of Toronto scene creators Kenny Glasgow, Mario J and Mark Oliver. Like a good pupil ADDY would go home and fine-tune his skills. Soon ADDY was being booked at the raves where he got his lessons and was an established name on the scene from 1992 1995. When Torontos underground rave scene moved into nightclubs ADDY moved into studio to study audio engineering. ADDY came back in 1998 and the rise up has been constant ever since.

ADDY is both producer and engineer. His (paranoid jacks)Slavedriver remix was charted by Balance Promo and was played on BBC Radio 1s Essential Mix. His first record, The Frost project, which he produced with the Muddasouls Collective was signed to New York based DJ Disciples Catch 22 label. ADDYs Reminiscence (missing u) remix (addys missing industry mix) was featured on the Industry nightclubs closing party CD. Now, ready to start full time in the studio again, ADDY is continuing his climb to the top, which is guaranteed to please music lovers around the globe. As freelance writer Randy Chow once wrote in Eye Magazine (Toronto):

When ADDY works it the crowd works it.
