About Me

Lucky 7 is a four piece alternative rock band from San Diego, California featuring Allen Colaneri on lead vocals and guitar, Darin Brookner on lead guitar, Steven Press on bass and Robert Garbowski on drums.Formed in late 1997, Lucky 7 quickly gained a reputation for their high-energy live shows. Their blend of heavy guitar riffs, melodic vocals and undeniable hooks have created a strong buzz across the globe. They've been compared to great bands like Blink 182 and Lit for combining elements of pop punk and hard rock.Lucky 7 recorded their debut CD Miss Fortune in early 1998 at a small, local studio (Doubletime, Santee/California). The CD was self produced and funded for a mere $800. Without a label, they put the album on Mp3.com for exposure. Since then, Miss Fortune has sold well over 10,000 copies without distribution, and has been downloaded millions of times from fans around the world. With this overwhelming presence on the Internet, Yahoo featured Lucky 7 as one of the top Internet bands in the world. They were also named Mp3.com's "Best Alternative Band of 1999" and are one of the highest grossing bands on Mp3.com to date. Tracks such as, "My Father's Son", "Waiting" and "Be the One" were voted "Best Rock/Pop" songs on Mp3.com. Lucky 7 was also voted "Best Rock Band" by San Diego Magazine in 1999 and 2001.With this momentum, Lucky 7 continued to do what they enjoy the most, playing live. They hit the road across the U.S. performing with great bands such as: Goo Goo Dolls, New Found Glory, Something Corporate, Allister and many more. Lucky 7 is the first independent band to tour Australia, selling out 6 headlining dates, wrapping-up with a powerful performance in Brisbane and capturing the renowned Livid Festival. As a result, they were signed "on the spot" for a deal with Shock Records for Australia and New Zealand. They recently finished recording their new album at The Village Recording Studios in Hollywood with producer Daniel Mendez (Lit, Eve 6, Dashboard Confessional). The record was mixed by famed mixer/engineer Tom Lord-Alge at South Beach Studios in Miami. Mastering took place in Portland, Maine by another famed engineer, Bob Ludwig. The new album was released in Australia early summer through Shock Records/Omega Records. The first single Be the One, hit the Aussie airwaves with a smash to coincide with the bands return to the land down under, where they shared the main stage on this years Van's Warped Tour. The album was released in September 2002 and was followed by U.S. dates on the Warped Tour.
