About Me

I'M DELETING THIS IN A FEW DAYS. JUST SO YOU ALL KNOW! I'M ON FACEBOOK NOW THOUGH, SO ADD ME ON THAT! CHEERS!

My Interests

Anime, music videos, retro and art-house games, most stuff from from Japan (especially Kubrick figures) quality music, Capoeira, making and watching short (and long) films, and traveling off the beaten track.

I'd like to meet:

Lots of well known people, but among us regular folk, just anyone who takes time out to create stuff and puts other people over personal gain.

Music:

You can't go wrong with a bit of David Bowie, Radiohead, Beck, The Killers, Joanna Newsom, Sigur Ros, Air, Seu Jorge, Arcade Fire, Scott Walker or DJ Shadow can you? Also a big fan of Joe Hisaishi's quality soundtracks.

Movies:

Ooh, a few off the top of my head... Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Memento, Vanilla Sky, A Scanner Darkly, Donnie Darko, Oldboy, Fight Club, Lost in Translation, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Spirited Away, Carlito's Way, City of God, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, Blue Velvet, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, Solaris (the original Russian one), Roujin Z, Grave of the Fireflies, The Wings of Honneamise, Faraway So Close, La Haine, Battle Royale, Hana-Bi, Sonatine, Blade Runner, Princess Mononoke, The Seven Samurai, Kikujiro, Being John Malkovich, In the Mood for Love, 2046, Casshern, Glengarry Glen Ross, The Brother from Another Planet, Ghost Dog, Brazil, Adaptation, Fire Walk With Me, The Man Who Fell To Earth, Gattaca, Dog Day Afternoon, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Nausicaa: Valley Of The Wind, Wings Of Desire, Apocalypse Now, The Shining... and literally about a million other, more obscure films, especially the odd bit of anime and Asian cinema.

Television:

Lost, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Screenwipe... and that's about it really! Most TV's really, really bad at the moment. Where's the passion gone people?

Books:

Currently (attempting) reading War and Peace. 1400 pages long when I can raise the stamina to dive in to it. It's on the endless to do pile with The Seven Pillars of Wisdom and The Hero With a Thousand Faces. Other than that i've recently been reading stuff by Joseph Heller, Ken Kesey, Walter Tevis, Philip K. Dick and Chuck Palahniuk among others. I'd pretty much read the back of a cornflakes packet!

Heroes:

David Bowie, Takeshi Kitano, Michel Gondry, Hayao Miyazaki, Charlie Kaufman, Larry David, Jacques Brel - legends all!
