Kevin Dorris has been playing bouzouki since he was 15. Starting on mandolin...it was only a matter of time before he moved on to the larger member of the string family.
Kevin recorded with the band "Tamalin" in 1997. The name of the album was "Rhythm And Rhyme" which was ground breaking at the time. The other members of this band were John McSherry on pipes, Joanne McSherry on Fiddle, Paul McSherry on guitars and Tina McSherry on vocals and Concert flute.
Due to other commitments this band broke up in 1998 after returning from Australia after doing The Guineass tour.
In 1998 Kevin moved to Galway City where he began doing gigs with Mirella Murray, Pádraig Rynne and Tóla Custy just to name a few. He continued to work with them untill 2004 when he decided to return home to Belfast to pursue other interests.
In 2004-2005 Kevin recorded on Pádraig Rynne's solo album entitled "Bye A While". This one of the fastest selling traditional albums of 2005. Since Kevin returned to belfast he has taken a more relaxed lifestyle spending most of his time painting and venturing out for an odd session.
