Nahlia Bird, "Nalia", started singing at the tender age of 12. She was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica, where she grew up in a christian home, therefore attending church , where she began singing. While attending Jonathan Grant High School , she took part in various talent competitions , such as the yearly school festivals, Teen Star search Competion, where she won , best gospel artist, and best overall artist, meaning she swept the competion clean. Her first studio recording was done at Bunny Gemini's "Record Factory" where she recorded cover version "Waiting In Vain". While pursuing launching into a solo career she did background vocals for various artist. After migrating to the U.S she continued singing only as a background vocalist, until launching to Don One Studios, where she did another cover version in 2001, Buck Wild originally by "Blue Cantrell" which entered at no 7 on the reggae charts, also leading to two single releases on the Don One Label "Truly" and "
Mine tonight". she is currently working on upcoming album to be released in 2008. Nahlia "Nalia" Bird will be hitting the musical waves with a new kind of sound. So listen up , look out, for the New Musical Heatwave artist who will be bringing a concious twist in the Jamiacan musical fraternity.
