I am here for Friends and Networking

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Get in touch with old friends, and meet new people who are cool as long as they're not cyberstalkers

Music:

I have eclectic musical taste, so basically I listen to anything except country and I can even get with some of that (what you know about the Dixie Chicks? ")What I listen to the most is gospel music, hip-hop, r and b and neo-soul. And quietly, that first Ashley Simpson CD is the knock!

Movies:

The Princess Bride is one of my favorite movies("As you wish"), New Jack City, The Best Man, Napoleon Dynamite, Last Holiday, Bourne Identity and Supremacy...etc, etc, etc. I love movies and will pretty much try any movie, even the B movies that you happen upon in the back isle of Blockbuster. Sometimes they are a sleeper-hit. Have you ever watched Palindromes? Weird, but very good. It won some awards at one of those indie film festivals.

Television:

I like to watch home decorating shows, so I watch HGTV, TLC alot. I also love the FOOD channel. Paula Deene be cooking stuff you don't have no business eating, like fried snickers. I love that about her! My job is stressful, so sometimes I like to watch fluff to get my mind off of it like Runs House, entertainment news shows, and don't tell nobody.....but...I watch Flavor of Love. Ghetto, I know, but so mesmerizing. Where do they find 20 chicks that seriously want to be with Flav? They really be in love too, crying and everything.

Books:

The Bible, anything by Pearl Cleage (What Looks Like Crazy on An Ordinary Day), Anthing by Omar Tyree (A Do Right Man)...somebody stole my signed copy of that, but since I can't remember who I loaned it to, I guess its a donation. The Interruption of Everything (Terry McMillan), Poisonwood Bible (Barbara Kingsolver), No Disrespect (Sister Souljah), Growing Up X (Ilyasah Shabazz), Things Fall Apart (Chinua Achebe), Day of The Trifids (A Sci-Fi book about killer plants that I have been trying to find ever since I read it as a preteen, but I think it's out of print. If anyone knows the author, holla at me.) There are so many books I love that I could not possibly list them all here. I guess you could say I'm a bibliophile. Maybe I'll be a librarian in my next life. Or a bookstore owner.

Heroes:

Jesus, My mama, Ben Carson, Patricia Turner (a black female surgeon that was my chief resident at Howard many years ago), Dr. Leffall(another awesome surgeon at Howard, Dr. Brittman (an old-school family practice doctor in Portsmouth, VA that still does home visits)
