- My friends, especially Sumo and Carla.
- Music - I couldn't survive if someone took my music away from me, or burned all the radio stations, ect...though if they burned down Galaxy I wouldn't be upset in the least.
- Drama - singing, acting, dancing, performing in general. Showing off.
- Drawing and making things, like customising my clothes and stuff.
- Reading ridiculously romantic and slushy stuff to go 'aww' over. I love Romeo and Juliet. In fact, I love Shakespeare, it's so beautiful and poetic. Except King Lear, because that's dire.
- Diving and swimming, I love swimming as it makes you feel sort of...peaceful. Hard to explain!
- Just relaxing with a book to escape the chaos of the world for a bit.
- Being loud and a general annoyance to everyone, but not caring in the least.
- Doing gay things in town, like the time we walked round with A.R.S.E on our fronts with a letter each and stood in front of Subway...
- Beards.
- Pirates.
- Eyeliner and making myself look weird.
- Underground maps.
I have already met some of the most fabulous people in the world...
When griping grief the heart doth wound,
and doleful dumps the mind opresses,
then music, with her silver sound,
with speedy help doth lend redress.
My top ten songs;
10. Anthem - Zebrahead Such a great song! It makes you want to go crazy, dance around and generally have a good time! Which is what I did when I saw this live! Great lyrics too.
9. Basket Case - Green Day Yeah, it's a classic. I don't really need to explain why it's here, to be honest. The live version on Bullet For A Bible is AMAZING, too, when the crowd take over. Always puts a smile on my face.
8. God Save the Queen - The Sex Pistols I basically got into punk music through this band, and this is one of their best songs, possibly not the best but the one that had the biggest impact on me. I loved the message it put across, the 'fuck it, we just don't care', which is what's so great about punk.
7. Now I'm Here - Queen Again not necessarily one of their best songs, but I remember it from my dad playing it in the car on trips, and I just love the riff. Brian May really knows how to play!
6. The Day The World Turned Day-Glo - X-Ray Spex This was a song stuck on the end of one of my punk compilations, and it turned out to be the best in the entire box-set. I LOVE X-Ray Spex, Poly Styrene can't sing, the playing isn't brilliant, but it all sounds just so good, and it gets across a message. It's all about having fun, and making no sense, and I love that.
5. The Nobodies - Marilyn Manson I think this song has a really powerful message, and it always makes me think. To any teenager growing up, this is pretty much life most of the time. It's really beautiful when it's acoustic, too. A powerful song.
4. All My Best Friends Are Metalheads - Less Than Jake I haven't known this song for a long time at all, but it got me into a truly great band and much more into ska music. At Leeds fest it was great when this came on, the atmosphere was brilliant and everyone around me was shouting out the lyrics. It brings back memories I love, ones I want to keep forever.
3. Peggy Sue - Buddy Holly My dad used to listen to this in the car, and it reminds me of my childhood, listening to 'See You Later, Alligator' by Bill Haley and the Comets, among others, but this one sticks out most in my memory, mostly because of how much my dad loved it. I can always remember having my earphones in and him belting it out when we were alone in the car, because he thought I couldn't hear him.
2. Girl All The Bad Guys Want - Bowling For Soup Yeah, okay, it's just fun and it doesn't really mean anything as a song. But this came out and I started to get more into punk rock music, when I didn't really know it existed before. This song reminds me of America, as it was out when I was over there and I got the album, listening to it non-stop. Everybody knows it, it's just so great.
1. Plug In Baby - Muse The song that got me into Muse, the greatest band around! Also the song that truly made me interested in rock music of all shapes and sounds. Origin of Symmetry changed me forever, and if you haven't got that album, buy it, because it's one of the best ever made. Matt Bellamy's guitar intro on this - dear lord. Could you ask for much more?
