About Me

Glossop North End is the club from the smallest town ever to have a team in the highest league of English League football. That heady season - 1899/1900 - is long ago, but is a proud part of the club's history.
These days the club plays in the North West Counties League, living from hand to mouth and relying on the Glossop public to keep the club running. Numbers have been dwindling - make a vow to come twice a season to help the club keep going. Without your help, we can never provide the facilities and football club that the town needs.
Now if you thought that Surrey Street was the last bastion for the old men of Glossop, you'd be WRONG. There is the Con Club too. But YOU can change that. We have probably the most entertaining manager in the league, the beer is CHEAP and the laughs are plenty. Sometimes the football isn't bad either.

Abbey Hey 0, Glossop NE 1

In the final analysis, what matters is that North End took the three points home with them (metaphorically of course), completing a double over their hosts in the process.  The game however was n...

Well here was a confusing one for the casual observer.  In the first half it was clearly Salford who were the team gunning for one of the 3 promotion places to the Unibond league.  They...

Newcastle Town 2, Glossop North End 3

Newcastle manager Greg Clowes's assessment of the referee as he walked off the pitch was a scathing one "I wouldn't pay you in buttons" but his outburst was borne of frustration.  In truth, ...

Glossop NE 3, Atherton LR 3

At half time North End had this match sewn up, but blew it to such an extent that they were eventually grateful for a 91st minute goal from stand-in skipper Sean Hazelden, which rescued a point at the...
