Let the machines do the talking

About Me

Following his timely 2004 debut on Varial Records, the cogs that drive Derailleur show no sign of slowing down. Since earning a reputation for solid production values the Derailleur sound has continued to gather momentum and prestige. Deep chords, glitchy rhythms and punchy, analogue basslines have become keynote features of any Derailleur release while an acute sense of what makes a dancefloor tick forms another essential part of the equation. Recent remix duties for legendary electronic pioneers The Black Dog and the launch of Norwich based monthly techno-house tear up ‘Rotation’ have kept the Norfolk based producer busy. Themes of science, history and industry strike a rich vein through the Derailleur psychology as one eye stays ever watchful of the past, while the other is fixed firmly on the horizon. More than capable of wringing humanity from ones and zeros, Derailleur continues a long tradition of mans intimate association with machines.Since completing ‘Wave Theory of Light’ EP for Dust Science Recordings, Derailleur has been busy adding the finishing touches to his live show. Drawing on his previous Varial output, as well as the ‘Wave Theory’ EP, the set also includes new unreleased material. Featuring a hardware exclusive setup consisting of drum machines/sampler/synths/live effects plus a turbo charged Devilfish TB303 the live set has already received high praise following it’s debut at the 2007 Bloc Weekender Festival.
