About Me

Theater Artist. Musician. Cultural worker. Possessing depth, range, humor, and charm. Appeared on stage in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, and New York City; as well as in films and video, playing both leading and supporting roles. A student of life and the human condition, I continue to study the thespian's craft and I'm developing my skills as a director and script writer. A teacher. There is an art to educating and communicating, one that I have learned over the years by trial and error. Currently, I teach acting and playwriting to high schoolers. Most of my teaching experiences have been in underserviced communities. A writer. Known for my clarity and creativity. I distribute my thoughts between journals, script developments, and hip-hop/spoken word. An Angoleiro. I grew up on the dance floor, in African dance and the go-gos. Now I practice Capoeira Angola, an Afro-Brazilian martial art, dance, and game. Stayed in Bahia, Brazil to deepen my knowledge, skills, and appreciation. I also enjoy playing percussion instruments and recording music that suits my fancy (see chike's music in my top friends). Born in Washington, D.C., raised in P.G. County, MD, and I'm the child of Nigerians. Currently, I rest my head in Brooklyn, NY.

I miss Capoeira de Angola

"O jogo de dentro, jogo de fora, o jogo de dentro, o jogo Angola!", the Mestre would sing as the bateria plays the solid, improvisational backgroud music for these Afro-Brazilian folk tales to be...

So, this is it. I'm in New York. West New York to be exact. It's actually New Jersey, right across the Hudson, but it's all a part of the NY metro. Anyway, New York is a monster of a city. Things are ...
