*** A Native of the Chi, I joined ASIS Magazine and became Assistant to Chief Editor, and Editorial Writer. For those who don't know, I'm also a Registered Nurse, so most of the stories I write are usually attempts to reach out to my people on the health & wellness tip.Here's a sneak peak of some of the stories I wrote....“The Truth About X”, A look into the harmful and deadly drug Ecstasy,“Manicure? Pedicure? or Hepatitis?”, An investigation into the cleanliness of nail salons, and answers to why HIV and Hepatitis are on the Rise."Human Papilloma Virus- The New Silent Killer”, A disease that is plaguing our young women, and can sometimes go undetected,(So ladies, make sure to get your paps!)"New Trends In Birth Control", An Overview of the available methods of preventing pregnancy, and the spread of STD's."A Heart to Heart" Learning ways to prevent Heart diseases.When I'm not writing or saving lives , I like to just fall back, and do Me. I have my hands in a little bit of everything, because I believe versatility is the key to life.Over the last several years, I have served as an Honorary Judge for the Chicago Public Schools Regional Science Fair, as well as a mentor and volunteer for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America, Miseracordia, and The Muscular Dystrophy Association, all while maintaining a pretty darn high G.P.A which ultimately landed me a spot in Phi Theta Kappa's- National Honors Society.- Not Bad huh?? The one thing I learned is that if you can dream it, you can achieve it.Before I go, I would like to take this time to do a few thank you's, shout out's, or whatever you may call them.... First off, I want to thank God the Most-High, for being such a forgiving and undersanding God. To my Soulmate: My heart is open to you, and Everything about you means "Beautiful". By CHANCE we met, by FAITH we survived, through LOVE we are eternally united. To my TRUE friends: Colette, Gerard (Mr. Exotic Wheel), Roni,Germaine, Black,& Linisha,....Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being real, and keeping me in check. It takes a REAL friend to tell you like it "Tee-Eye-IZ". To My Mom, for showing me the definition of a soldier, My family, and my extended Myspace friends... May the spirit of the Living God Fall upon you.
