Being with my friends, dancing, frisbee-ing, making mistakes, snowboarding, writing, pineapples, making semi-inappropriate jokes, microbreweries, spontaneous art projects, biblically-named tall guys, museums, trying pretty much anything once, singing (badly), north dakota, reading, camping, honesty, wakeboarding, grammar, staying up all night, racing lawnmowers, regretting nothing, rolling down hills, lollipops, the undying persistence of religion, hacky sacks, concerts, movies, traveling, energy, partying, diet dr. pepper, playing pool, passion, crossword puzzles, saving starving children, the beach, driving, good vibes, having my own discourse, laughing, debating the use of the comma before the "and" in a series, and a whole lot of other things, most of which end with "ing."

I'd like to meet:

Music:

Hip hop, rock, local bands in need of support... De La Soul, Talib Kweli, the Roots, Common, Mos Def, Aceyalone, Living Legends, Slum Village, Jurassic 5, Erykah Badu, Weezer, Nirvana, the Doors, Van Morrison, the Devlins, Sublime, Counting Crows, Smashing Pumpkins, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Tori Amos, Tom Petty, Kid Rock... on the other hand, I have this certain affinity for bad music, along the lines of Kelly Clarkson or Phil Collins. What can I say? They're sort of catchy.

Movies:

Ones that make me think, or cry, or laugh. Empire Records, Billy Madison, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, American Beauty, Crash, Fight Club, the Kevin Smith movies, American History X, Little Children, Menace II Society, Memento, Akeelah and the Bee, 21 Grams, Scream, Being John Malkovich, Best in Show, Trainspotting, Reality Bites, Thelma & Louise, Dead Poet's Society, Encino Man, Dead Man Walking, Friday, Clueless, City of Angels, Gleaming the Cube. Oh, and cheesy teenager movies, preferably involving dancing and/or cheerleading.

Television:

Not really a TV kid. Reruns of The Cosby Show, Sex and the City, or Beverly Hills, 90210. (Stop laughing.)

Books:

mmm... books. Anything by Chuck Palahniuk, Kurt Vonnegut, Roald Dahl, Walt Whitman, Douglas Coupland, Jonathan Kozol, Jack Kerouac, Richard Brautigan, Bret Easton Ellis. Catcher in the Rye. Fahrenheit 451. The Bell Jar. The AP Stylebook. Brave New World. The Fountainhead. 1984. Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs. A whole lot of nonfiction.
