Benjamin Chmura graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2001 with a B.F.A. in Fashion Design. His first independent fashion show, “Feral†was a collection of men’s wear inspired by the cult classic “Mad Max.†Benjamin was selected as one of four seniors by Andre Leon Talley, Vogue magazine Editor-at-Large, to discuss their work and career plans over dinner. In September 2001, Benjamin moved to New York where he lived for two years. During that time, he was employed at Fishman and Tobin working on the Sean John Denim Division. He also freelanced for such companies as TSE, Men’s Express, Ralph Lauren and American Eagle. "Red Hood" introduced Benjamin's Fall 2005 men's wear, and was inspired by the children's tale "Little Red Riding Hood."Benjamin currently resides in Tampa, Florida. He debuted his Spring / Summer 2007 men's and women's collection, "Ozmapolitan" at Czar in Tampa, Florida and at Prive' in Miami Beach, Florida.Ben Chmura's collection "Anchors Away My Love" is NOW AVAILABLE online at www.etsy.com. "Anchors Away My Love" was featured at the Goddess Party @ Hyde Park Cafe on May 23rd, 2007.Chmura recently featured a sneak preview of his latest collection "Welcome to The Jungle" at Dunedin Fine Art Center's "Wearable Art Fashion Show" on August 18th, 2007. The full collection was featured at Czar's SWEATSHOP Show on September 2nd, 2007 accompanied by the live musical stylings of Très Bien.
