About Me

I don't have time to waste on those who obscure themselves in social constructs. I do, however, have plentiful interest in the honest.

My Interests

Rocking the fuck out.

I'd like to meet:

"If Heaven had lent me but five years more, I would have become a great painter." -Katsushika Hokusai

In the squares of the city, In the shadow of a steeple;
By the relief office, I'd seen my people.
As they stood there hungry, I stood there asking,
Is this land made for you and me?
--Frequently omitted verse in Woody Guthrie's "This Land is Your Land"

Music:

It's great. Music is the left-brain, right-brain bridge. It has structure and numbers, yet is creative at the same time. That's why so many people like music, because for a few sublime moments it can unite the conflicting factions of the bicameral mind.

Books:

House of Leaves, Life of Pi, everything Michael Crichton has written that's not about monkeys, Thoreau's Walden, Conrad's Heart of Darkness, The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind, Origami Omnibus (you'd be surprised), Dune, The Cheese Monkeys, my Critical Thinking Textbook, The Phantom Tollbooth, Wired magazine and so many others.

Heroes:
