WELCOME LAURENCE WILMSHURST! We have recently been joined by guitarist Laurence so expect to see us gigging very soon. A venture into the studio is also on the agenda and we are really looking forward to Laurence's creative input. We are also looking to play with a local Violinist to bring a different dynamic to our music as we feel it would lend itself well to our darker material (in a similar fashion to Naio Ssaion). We are also seeking a second guitarist to compliment our line-up. Our focus is to write and record new material and are currently pursuing a record/publishing deal. If you are interested please call 07830 071 280 or e-mail [email protected].
Formed in early 2005 through an ad in Harmony Music, Dorchester, original members included Gavin Backholer (drums), Martin Lewis(vocals), Kevin Ryan (bass) and Mike Sargent on guitar.
Early rehearsals were poorly prepared, spending four hours practicing The Clash, Metallica and The Darkness with Martin singing through a cheap Microphone from Currys run through Kevin's 15 Watt Practice Bass Amp. Hearing loss loud drums and a 250-Watt Bass amp turned up to 11 didn't help.
In May 2005, the Band was joined by Singer Songwriter Hayley Marie Penny, who had previously been recorded and had local air play. Hayley's supreme vocal ability forced the rest of the band to step it up.
Several line up changes over 12 months saw Mike replaced by Sam Harmen, who was also asked to leave due to commitment problems.
During this time, Kevin Ryan and Hayley Penny dedicated a lot of time working together on original material and the result is dozens of very catchy and original songs. We are still all working together without a guitarist, but for recording purposes Kevin has been performing all lead and rhythm guitar parts. Our first venture in the studio produced 'Morning Star' and 'I Can't Help But Love You', a punkish reworking of one of Hayley's early dance tunes.
