As incredible as it seems, I really have no desire to collect thousands of irrelevant pretend friends on the nerdbox. We all agree that I'm awesome and you wanna be my friend, but gimme a good reason to click that little accept button. Send me a damned email or IM. "Hi, I like [whatever supercool band/movie/book] too, let's be best buds forever!" See all those different and interesting things on the left of the page? If you have no idea what any of it is, I probably don't wanna be your friend. If we went to high school together and I wasn't your friend then, I probably still don't wanna be your friend. If you feel the need to communicate in ebonics, I probably don't wanna be your friend. If your politics tend to the left, I probably don't wanna be your friend. If you think that nautical star tattoo and studded belt makes you hardcore, I probably don't wanna be your friend. If you can't fathom the correct grammatical usage of "you're" and "your", I probably don't wanna be your friend. If you play in a whiny pop-punk/emo band, I probably don't wanna be your friend. I'm kind of an asshole, and I'm ok with that.
