About Me

I'm Jen. I feel like a lost soul but am taking steps to "find myself," whatever the hell that means. I was just diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder Type I which means I am a crazy manic lunatic more often than I am depressed. I have gotten "help" which means I now take pills that make me feel like shit. But I'm giving that some time.

I graduate from nursing school next December. I want to help babies with birth defects. My son has a birth defect called aqueductal stenosis that caused him to have profound congenital hydrocephalus. My greater aspirations are to go to Physician Assistant school and eventually work for a surgeon.

I just got my job at the Flying M back for like the hundredth time. I really think I'm going to be a lifer there, but I'm totally cool with that. I love espresso.

I hate intolerance and ignorance. I like drinking with friends but unfortunately can no longer tolerate it due to the medications I am taking. I appreciate an intelligent, insightful conversation. I love reading and believe that the power of words cannot be put into words.

That's about it for the superficial bullshit.

My Interests

Piano, guitar, music in general, math, chemistry, philosophy, art, the human body, the human condition, sex, body modification, snowboarding, wakeboarding, sunsets, oceans, thunderstorms...

I'd like to meet:

you.

Music:

Lots of things.

My favorite band is Rx Bandits. Hands down. They are amazing and motivated for positive social change.

Others include, but not limited to: Classical composers (particularly Edvard Grieg) Spoon, Aqualung, Social D., Brand New, Streetlight Manifesto, Neil Young, David Bowie, The Beatles, Tori Amos, Ben Folds, Tool, Everclear, Modest Mouse, The Mars Volta, The Dandy Warhols, The Starlight Mints, The Shins, Of Montreal, Placebo, Royksopp, Thievery Corporation, Air, Brazillian Girls...you are surely bored by now.

Movies:

Requiem For a Dream, Pi, Blow, Pulp Fiction and Dances with Wolves.

Television:

I don't watch a lot of TV; I actually kind of despise it.

I will admit that I love Nip/Tuck, though.

Books:

I love smutty chick lit and anything that is intellectually stimulating.

Heroes:

Any person that lives their life in order to make the world a better place.
