I've lived on the Outer Banks for about 17 years. Originally from New Bedford Massachusetts, but moved here when I was 9 years old. I've lived in Southern Shores for the past 7 years, but I started out as a Manteo rat. Graduated Manteo High school in 2000 and went to college. Graduated from East Carolina in 2005. Now I am currently a Mentor/Behaviorist and am about to get married to Jack B. May 19, 2007 in Kitty Hawk on the beach, then off to Hawaii!! Always wanted to go there! We've been together since freshman year high school (10 years!). You would probably remember us from the high school marching band! I currently have 2 dogs, 1 great dane named Roxy and 1 chocolate lab named Fester. They are my kids for now! Take a look at my adorable dogs on here!Other things I have done since high school and college, is signing up to do conservation work in the Cape Tribulation rainforest in Australia in the summer of 2005 (winter for Australia). There I stayed in a hut in the rainforest, the middle of nowhere, and helped remove invasive species (plants) from the area to help preserve the local inhibitants of Australia grow properly. I also learned a great deal about the local bat called the flying fox/fruit bat. I was able to teach tourist that came to the "BAT HOUSE" about the local bats and got to feed them and play with them. It was soo neat...wanted to bring one home! The rest of the time I traveled the whole east coast of Australia from Cairns all the way down to Sydney. It was amazing!! Wish I could travel more.September 11, 2006 Our house went on the market for sale.December 6, 2006 Moved into our brand new house!! Not too far from the other house...we were unable to sell our house right away..but we have people renting in it for now...hopefully we will sell it soooon as the tourist begin to flow in for the good weather!! Wish us luck!!..
