DJ a.k.a. SounDoctrine (1/3 of Converted Soul)
Dwight S. Ladd, Jr., is his legal name, but perhaps his stage moniker offers a more adequate depiction of this twenty-something emcee! Dubbed with the alias SounDoctrine, which is derived from II Timothy 4:3, this lyrical prodigy has developed a knack for provoking thought through clever metaphors superbly stacked with scripture! In the groups radio hit song titled I Wanna Serve Him, he raps, Be an overcomer- dont be defeated/ Cause the word S.I.N. is an acronym for Salvation Is Needed. The truth and conviction his rhymes are composed of makes it clear that he takes his stage name seriously. Already rapping in church by the time he was a third-grader, Dwight understands that much is expected of him and Converted Souls unique brand of ministry. You know the bible tells us that where much is given, much is required. Personally, I feel like God has invested much in me and I really want to give him a good return on His investment. My parents raised me in the direction in which they wanted me to go and I want to stay on that path.
