About RL
RL first distinguished himself outside of NEXT with his duet with Deborah Cox on the heart-wrenching "We Can't Be Friends". RL followed up that effort with a star-turn on "Best Man" the super-group track from the The Best Man (1999) soundtrack which also featured Ginuwine, Tyrese & Case. By the time RL's Rev. Greenish-styled "Good Love" (The Brothers soundtrack) and his hook to 'Pac's "Until the End of Time" were released, it was clear that he had created and artistic persona distinct and separate from Next. RL:Ements is RL's debut solo project for Clive Davis' still burgeoning J Records label; the lead single "Got Me a Model". It's 2006 and NEXT is back! Back with a new label, Music World Ent, new music and a new Swagger!!And that's just the artist side. Now.. RL is back also showing his business side with his production company Songs On Demand Ent. After penning such classics as Butta Love, Too Close, & Wifey, for NEXT/ Just In Case, Anything, & Remarkable, for Jaheim/ Bring Your Heart To Mine for Luther Vandross/ U R The 1 for USHER/ If U Leave, For Destiny Child,
Storm (Forecass), for Jamie Foxx/ and MANY MORE....He returns with a NEW outlook, NEW attitude...and a NEW Company! Coming out 1st of course is the new NEXT album, but, soon after he will release his solo Japanese import album entitled "IMPORTANT".
And, from just one listen to the interlude and 3 accompanying songs he's leaked from that album on to his Myspace page I'm sure we all can agree....This album needs to be released in the states as well!!!! Hint..Hint..RL!!!
