My totem spirit is the Bear
Caution, Healing & Leadership
The power of the Bear totem is the power of introspection.
The answers to all our questions lie within me.
I have the capacity to quiet the mind, enter the
silence and know.
Just as the bear hibernates during the winter, I will be
quieter during the winter months. But then must awaken
in the spring and seek whatever opportunities are
around me.
My Bear totem, guides me to leadership roles,
because I am fearless in defending my beliefs.
The Bear also encourages me to exercise my abilities
as a natural healer.
And Never Mess with My Family.

Stream of Life video
by Rabindranath Tagore
The same stream of life that runs through my veins night and day runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures.
It is the same life that shoots in joy through the dust of the earth in numberless blades of grass and breaks into tumultuous waves of leaves and flowers.
It is the same life that is rocked in the ocean-cradle of birth and of death, in ebb and in flow.
I feel my limbs are made glorious by the touch of this world of life.
And my pride is from the life-throb of ages dancing in my blood this moment.

Elder's Meditation of the Day - October 11, 2007
"Men and women have an equal responsibility to restore the strength of the family, which is the foundation of all cultures."
-Haida Gwaii Traditional Circle of Elders
The family is the heartbeat and strength of the culture. The grandfathers and grandmothers taught their children; they in turn had children who taught their children. If the family isn't taught the culture, then the children become adults and the adults become the grandfathers and grandmothers and the result is that the culture becomes lost. This is how language is lost; this is how dances are lost; this is how knowledge is lost. We need to listen to our Elders today, before it's too late.
Great Spirit, teach me the culture so I can teach the children.
