Sitting on my stoop and reading a good book, cooking (exp Mexican), gardening, going out with friends or chilling at home and watching movies, playing practical jokes and crank calling my friends, scrabble, crosswords, coffee and conversation, sushi, learning about new cultures, making up new words, learning and butchering foreign languages (Mandarin these days), telling depraved jokes, playing game cube with my little cousins and talking trash knowing that they'll kick my ass, playing with my cat. I love physical activity and have managed to do the following without breaking any bones: taking long walks, yoga, hiking in the Catalinas, swimming, running, biking, weights. Would love to learn Tai Chi, capoeira other martial arts, racquetball, shooting. I wish I could make enough time to polish my drawing and writing skills.

My taste in music is eclectic. I listen to anything that has soul, a spark of genius or just makes me feel good. I'm alway open to listening to something new.First and foremost I'm a Classical music dork. I'll spare you ALL of the gory details, but I hold a special place in my heart for Brahms' music. I'm also fond of Stravinsky, Bach, Mozart, Arvo Part, Poulenc and many many others. I love jazz too, love John Coltrane and Eric Dolphy. Oh, Lets not forget: I also enjoy performing, and love to learning to play new instruments when I can get my hands on them. As far as other stuff goes:I like everything from Yma Sumac to Radiohead;I love R&B..Whitney, Boyz 2 Men, Tina Turner, Motown to name a few; Random 80s stuff; Madonna, both Jacksons, the Cure, Elton John, Celia Cruz, Latin, World, Folk, and lots of other stuff that I forgot to mention. Don't laugh but I'm also an Earth, Wind and Fire fan, and have been known to bump the radio when I hear a Beach Boys or Wilson Phillips song.

I hardly ever watch T.V. When I do it is usually something funny (Simpsons and robot chicken), depraved (South Park and Family Guy), historical, or involves wild animals killing each other.
I love to read, but I haven't had too much time to do so lately. I'm a history buff, books about times past and different cultures fascinate me. I enjoy anything from Voltaire to Anne Rice, and the countless classics and other fare in between...Carlos Castaneda, John Cheever, Alice Walker, Harry Potter books, Stephen King, Gore Vidal (enjoy reading his historical fiction), poems by Neruda, Cummings, Whitman.
