Anything heavy that doesn't stoop to blending in rap to get on the radio. Usually older metal ( Not cock rock ) and newer speed metal and hardcore. I also listen to punk ( not neo-pop-punk ) goth, classic rock, very little techno and rap, and a good dose of blues.
My favorite 'metal' bands: Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Megadeth, Anthrax, old Shadows Fall, Lamb of God, Iron Maiden, Hatebreed, Sepultura, System of a Down, Fear Factory, Black Label Society, Chimaira, Slipknot, Danzig, Meshuggah, Black Sabbath ( Ozzy years ), Tool, Job for a Cowboy, Nevermore, OTEP, Behemoth, old Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Bleeding Through, Trivium, GWAR, Kyuss, Rob/White Zombie, Type O Negative, Mushroomhead, and pretty much whatever else along those lines.
