I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am a twenty-four year old graduate student studying to be a librarian. I'm also the proud author of a novel. I'm an introspective artist with a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I'm extremely quiet by nature, but I'm also a proud liberal and an atheist, a feminist, an existentialist, and a secular humanist. I strongly identify with the childfree movement. I crave the sun but this complexion demands shade. I love white chocolate, blankets, dogs, books, animated movies, and hot baths. I could live on fresh tomatoes. I want to grow my hair to my knees. I'm an unabashed hedonist. I inspire wild rumors. I'm a complete sucker for furry faces and wagging tails. I raised two seeing eye dogs for the blind. I'm obsessed with zombies. I love the fifties and want to be a bombshell. I can pull off red lipstick. I adore pinstripes. I have a signature scent. I favor the Oxford comma and wince when people pronouce the "t" in "often." I love the aroma of old books. My issues are animal abuse and puppy mills, conflict diamonds, female genital mutilation, women's rights, illiteracy, and eating disorder awareness. I worry way too much. I cry too easily. I have more books than I know what to do with. I have a rare chronic pain condition called snapping scapula syndrome, and always am interested in hearing from others with the same.

Lamentations for Deployment

I really don't know how to say anything.  Words aren't adequate.  It's so new, so big.  I know that I've lived through a great many nine-month spans, but it suddenly became a concept ra...

A Story
