Singer, Songwriter, Model, and Actress……With her first album “Live, Learn, Grow and Change” completed, Kaytee is starting to create a buzz within the Entertainment Industry as she brings a fresh, new voice to R&B music. As Kaytee states, “For me, It’s not just about having a hot beat…..I want to create MUSIC!!! For a song to be great to me, it’s got to have musical direction. There has to be a strong melody, a great hook, lyrics that mean something, phat/thick chords and a fantastic beat. There is no greater feeling than taking that first melodic idea and turning it into a full song, bringing it to life in the studio, and then hearing that final product! It’s the greatest rush in the world….I end up listening to that new song over and over and over again because it’s just such a proud moment as a musician!”A proud moment for Kaytee it should be. After years of vocal training, performing on stage since the age of 7, piano lessons, theory, acting and modeling her hard work is starting to pay off. “The Entertainment Industry is competitive. If you want to shine you have to put in the time” says Kaytee. “You don’t just wake up a star. You have to wake up every day with an understanding of who you are because if you don’t, you’ll lose yourself. You have to know exactly what you want to do with your career; you need to have goals and a great team of people that surround you to help you attain those goals. You have to be open to challenges, criticism, growth, change, practice, and you need to be willing to seize any and all opportunities.” This is something Kaytee has been willing to do since she was a child. “I think I always knew that music was going to be my path in life” and what a path it’s been. Leading her to performances at venues like Carnegie Hall, to performing in large nightclub venues and singing everywhere from Las Vegas to New York to Washington and performing all over the state. She’s also taken on additional projects such as demoing songs for writers, recording background vocals, writing/co-writing songs for other artists, vocal coaching, co-producing and collaborating with Independent producers and musical artists in the industry.That really should be enough, but there are other career goals and interests Kaytee has. “I think every girl has a dream to either be a singer, model, or actress. At seven, I got involved in musical theatre and at this point I have well over 20 musicals under my belt. Many of which I was fortunate enough to get the lead part! I was also very active in competitive speech, as well as drama classes. And like any young girl, I was obsessed with “Teen Magazine” and dreamed about one day gracing the covers of fashion magazines. I just loved posing for the camera….I was quite the ham. Still am, I guess!” Today, she no longer has to dream about doing those things….she’s just doing them. “I’ve been fortunate to meet amazing people in this industry who believe in me and want to see me succeed. They’ve taken me in and have worked with me and now I’m getting gigs as a model, getting hired as a spokeswoman, and performing! I’m getting the chance to do everything I love and I just thank God for these opportunities….” So, she’s a Singer, Songwriter, Vocal Producer, Model, and Actress? More than a triple threat and not willing to stop, “I’m excited to see where the future is going to take me.
