About Me
Born in West Memphis, Arkansas, Lance Harvill is a singer/songwriter/guitarist currently from Dallas, Texas.
You can catch Lance working around the Dallas/Fort Worth area in the dance-rock/alternative band The Elements , or in his acoustic duo act All About Eve .
The original music on this page is from Lance's new upcoming record, "MOURNING THE IMAGINARY".
Upon graduating from world-renowned music school Musicians Institute , Hollywood, California, he landed back in Texas to form the hard rock band Manta Ray, which boasted the dynamic rhythm section of David Harbour (bass) and John Hebert (drums) of King Diamond and Chastain fame. On the other guitar was Lance's mentor, Mike Morgan .
Soon after, Lance would go on to Atlanta to develop and shape his song-writing with noted producer and drummer Phil Ehart , one of the founding members of the classic rock-and-roll band Kansas .
Once again making his way back to the Lonestar State, he joined the hard-hitting Dallas heavy metal band Cactus Jaw . Endorsed by Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul of the metal super-group Pantera , C.J. shared the bill and the stage with such artists as Rush , Blackwood Avenue , Pumpjack , Phillip Anselmo (Pantera), Dave Williams (Drowning Pool), Rex Brown (Pantera), and Jerry Cantrell (Alice In Chains), to name a few.
Lance has had the pleasure of expressing music with many other respected artists, such as, Russ Fowler (engineer-Rage Against The Machine, Stone Temple Pilots), Sterling Winfield (engineer/co-producer-Pantera, Damage Plan, Nickleback, Hellyeah), Ricky Wolking (Edgewater), Tony MacAlpine , and more.
This unique artist garners a melodically-dark, yet mainstream sense of style, adding a combination of guitar and vocal influences ranging from The Beatles & Jimi Hendrix to Alice In Chains.
Currently, Lance is writing and recording the rest of his upcoming new album titled "Mourning The Imaginary".
