Tact is the art of making a point without making an enemy. - Sir Isaac Newton

About Me

Slightly arrogant, sometimes judgemental, brutally honest to a fault, quiet when I need to be, reserved when it suits me, and an overall nice guy who is not above using stop sticks to prevent being last. Some may label me a "metalhead" but I am not the stereotypical metal fan. I enjoy wearing polo shirts, nice jeans, and wrist watches. I constantly challenge myself to be very verbose to help to make up for lack in sense to convey my emotions. I'll give respect where it's due and try my hardest to believe in karma when I find myself on the ass of a situation.
I am the bassist for the Oklahoma City based band Horse Called War and that definitely keeps me very busy and challenged in the way of music. There isn't a grandma that I wouldn't punch in the face for those guys and I'm always hoping to one day make music my full time career. I'm not talking tour buses with hot tubs, drugs, and the usual excess. Give me a nice house, enough money to raise a family, and drive a car that won't fall apart and my dreams would be fulfilled 110%.
Music is a huge part of my everyday life. Music has kept me sane throughout alot of ordeals and that is exactly why I hold it so high in my life whether it be playing music or appreciating someone else's works. I attribute my love for music from growing up around true lovers of music like my father, brother, and of coarse my early days in public school band.[LOVEMYFLASH][/LOVEMYFLASH]

My Interests

My interests lie mainly in music and I still somewhat dabble in some PC gaming.

A few brands of equipment that I use in my bass rig:

Ampeg SVT4PRO - Stereo
(2) 610HLF Cabinets - Full Range

Warwick Corvette ProLine 6-String
Nirvana black stain
Bartolini Pickups

Fender Standard J-Bass
Outfitted w/ Custom Warmouth Parts, Schaller Strap Locks, Grover Machines, and a Gotoh201B Bridge.

I'd like to meet:

"Your weak now because you own it, you posess, you have something that they can take. You remember how it was when you had nothing. You looked at the ones that had what you wanted and you felt strong in your need. Brave in your living surroundings, righteous in your desire for something different. Contemptuous of those that had exactly what you wanted.

You hated them because they looked weak and slightly scared. You circle the water hole and thought about closing in. Now you have it and you feel weak in your power to keep it. You feel desperate to make them see it because you won't let them take it away, because it's yours. You've never had to justify yourself or your posessions before. "I earned this", "I worked hard for what I've got", "I payed my dues", "I deserve this"; You say these things to yourself as the animals circle and wait. Shake your fists at the hyenas, chaise them away from your water hole, justify. See them all objectively, now you see that they want something, they want exactly what you got.

You can be obtuse, human becomes prey, human gets scared. You figure out that you have to be hard to keep it yours, you have to be cool, you have to kill them off just for looking. Leave the bodies by the water hole so the rest will see. Hang spent bullet casings from fishing line outside of all the windows of your house. Put up signs, "Please break in, I would love the opportunity to kill you legally." Let the fear turn into desperate anger, start seeing the differences in people, they all start looking suspicious. They all want.

The need never stops. Out there, someone is always needing, always hungry, always looking at you, checking your eyes for weakness, zeroing in on the vein in your neck as they circle the water hole and close in."

- Henry Rollins

Music:

I'm very open minded when it comes to music. Whether it be heavy, the classics, progressive, alternative, funk, etc. I can appreciate it for what it is and how much passion the artist has in the music.

Movies:

I have alot of favorites. But a few are Twelve Angry Men, One Flew Over the Kookoo's Nest, Dead Poet's Society, Boondock Saints, Good Will Hunting, , etc.

Television:

I watch alot of news, history channel, and food network. My television stays on the Discovery channel alot.

Books:

I admit I don't read as much as I should or would like to but I am a fan of George R. Martin, Steven King, Tolkien, etc.

Heroes:

People who dare to live their dreams in defiance of what anyone tells them they "should" be doing.
