I'm English - been in the US 8 years. I'm a good woman, I'm even tempered and reliable. I've done the therapy and self-help books, know myself quite well now... and have even begun to like/love myself in the process. I tend to think the best of everyone, until they prove otherwise. I'm a positive and motivated person, and I'm grateful for what I have, even though it's not much. In fact, I've realized that the only way I can be happy in this life is to notice and be grateful for the little things. Having a good sense of humor is another thing that makes life fun!
I love dancing and riding horses, playing with my little boy, cuddling with my puppy dog... I enjoy movies and dinner. I love to read (mostly non-fiction, health, self-help and spiritual) and have been told I write well. I miss my family and would love to visit them more often in England.
I have two beautiful older children who still live in the UK. My daughter lives in Wales and is studying art and my older son has just finished his aviation engineering degree. Of course, I am very proud of them both and miss them a lot, even thought we talk on the phone and email constantly.
I TRY to stay fit and eat well - and fail often! I am a borderline-vegetarian and I have a passion for "alternative" medicine, natropathy and natural health. I did do the raw food thing a couple of years ago and never looked or felt better... so I'm trying to get back into that now. I love doing yoga and I really need to learn mediation. I like all kinds of dance - jazz, ballet, contemporary, Argentine Tango. I just tried belly dancing recently - that was fun!
I am spiritual and in touch with my Higher Power (or God), but I'm not religious. Religion is man-made. Spirituality is God-made. I do attend a Universal Unitarian church sometimes.

My Interests

Yoga, working out at the gym, dancing, horses, dogs (especially Boston Terriers!), other animals, playing with my little boy, reading, watching movies.

Music:

Lots of different genres: New country, soul, jazz, some rap and hip hop, R & B, some classical. Nora Jones, Jack Johnson, Bob Schneider, Alison Krauss... to name but a few. Don't like heavy rock and some aggressive rap. My sister, Lou Rhodes, is a solo singer/songwriter in the UK and she's awesome! She was in a band called Lamb.

Movies:

Hand that rocks the cradle, The other Sister, Forrest Gump, One Flew Over the Cookoo's Nest, phsycological thrillers. What the Bleep.

Television:

Movies, documentaries, some real life, So you think you can dance, (told you I love dancing!) Prison Break. 24. GREY'S ANATOMY! OMG, I'm addicted to that, it's SUCH a good show! Don't watch TV very much, though.

Books:

Health, self-help, spiritual. Read The Essene Gospel of Peace (find it free online, just Google it). It was the most amazing thing I've ever read. I cried when I read it because it quoted words from Jesus' mouth and described exactly what I have always believed to be the truth. Reading Zen: The Art of Happiness right now. Interesting. Another good book was Eats Shoots and Leaves, about punctuation... sounds boring, but is hilarious.

Heroes:
