About Me

I'm from Toronto but am currently living in New York studying Moving Image Archiving and Preservation at NYU. I'm mostly interested in non-theatrical and experimental films and videos. I like commercial movies too, but am really bad about actually watching them. Honestly, if you were to ask me about a movie that playing in the theatres I probably haven't seen it, much less heard of it.I think of myself as kind of quiet and shy, but people don't seem to agree with me. So I don't know what that means. I guess it's that I like being around people and working on things in groups, but I don't like being the centre of attention. Definitely a behind-the-scenes type.I start lots of projects, but have a hard time finishing anything. I think everything in the world is potentially interesting if you learn a little bit about it, so I kind of swept away by new things all the time.I'm not good at being funny-ha-ha, but to make up for that I'm kind of funny-strange (but in a good way, hopefully).I'm too earnest, but I can't help it. Also related, I'm tactlessly honest and a really bad liar. It's a Sagittarian thing.

My Interests

Collections and collectors, catalogues and people who catalogue things (but not cataloguing), death and dying, temporality, felt (as in the craft material), non-standard film formats, "contemporary art," non-hierarchical forms of social organization, dumb celebrity gossip blogs (especially news about the Olsens)

I'd like to meet:

Anyone to whom my rambling profile seems to make some sense. (I suck at writing these things. But it's been more than 6 months, so I decided to finally do it.)

Music:

Geeky electronic music, early 90s indie rock (which I can't seem to get over), late 70s early 80s "post-punk" type stuff, what I recently discovered is described (by Rhapsody) as "baroque pop," music to dance to.

Movies:
