~I was born by the river, in a little tent. And oh just like the river I've been running ever since ~ Sam Cook * A Change is gonna come.
I was born in 1983 as a Southern Dutchie (south Holland) and all I wanted was just one thing: To live my life as a musician. So I left all behind at the age of 17 to move my 'tiny whity shiny behiny' to the capital Amsterdam (Ganja City of the Lowlands). I organized my own jam sessions and joined the Wicked Jazz Sounds Family just a few years before I studied at the conservatory. But decided to stop (the conservatory) after signing a record deal with Attie Bauw. I'm proud to say that, next to singing, songwriting, producing and all, improvising is my best skill! I soon started own band called King Coco & The Easy Lovers. I colaberated with Ammo in Stereo who were introduced to me by Rude Boy himself! Destiny leaded me to my musical soul brother Ralf and first we worked together as vocalists but we figured out that we had to do something together. So we came up with Mademoiselle and Monsieur.
The name Coco was given to me by my mom at birth. It wasn't a common name then, but it suits me perfectly to day. It comes in handy in my artist names King Coco and as Mc Miss Lady La Coco. All these names were given to me and I wear them with pride.
