About Me

It all started for me when I went to the Big Day Out in Melbourne in 1991 or 1992, I can't remember. Anyway, I was walking around and I went to see the bands that were playing in the shed. Fuck me if I did not drop my jaw in shock. It was what I had always been looking for! A rockabilly band loud and full on. What I found out later was, that it was psychobilly and it was the Fireballs!!! This was the second time in my life I was not influenced by anyone (The first time was Roxy Music, not quite in the psychobilly field but I love them too). Usually a friend would like so and so and then you find yourself getting into them too. Just like a friend who introduced me to Bruce Lee when I was 13. So, back to the Fireballs. I have to say it was like I found the place for me. So then I set about finding out about psychobilly. After the Fireballs, the next cd I bought was the Meteors & Batmobile then I followed on to Nekromantix & Mad Sin with a lot of other cds mixed in. Because I like so many different musical styles, finding music that is a cross between rockabilly, punk, metal & ska makes me feel like this is where I belong. I do not look like a psychobilly type but I don't care! I have a generic fit in anywhere look. So now with myspace, I have found many other bands that I would never have heard of through friends of friends. So please look through my friends, there are many great bands there. I am also in the process of buying cd's from all the bands in my friends collection. If you are a friend or want to be a friend please let me know if you have released a cd. I will be buying it!
