About Me

From the school of Dr. Elliott, DJ. Black Apache emerged in 1988 with the triple S Sound, where he was the back-up DJ. And apprentice. Soon after, Black Apache found himself DJ’ing with the National known sound Vibracion Positiva and traveled throughout Panama spinning Reggae, Salsa, Mereque, Haitiano etc, In 1989 Black Apache moved to New York City to finish High School and continued to DJ, however during this time he began making mixed CD’s in which he could barely meet the demand for. The difference with his Mix CD’s and other dj’s of the time is he did not talk, leaving non-stop mixes from beginning to end. “I never like to stop the music for any reason [states Black Apache] I would always work the pitch and tempo and find the appropriate tone to play. Its annoying to me to be enjoying a party and have the DJ stops the music to send a shout out or to restart the tune.” Apache says that the way the Jamaicans sound systems play and he doesn’t want anyone standing next to the booth trying to yell out on the microphone. DJ. Black Apache once played over 150 songs non-stop in one hour “when you are in the mood to rub-a-dub a girl against the wall you don’t want the music to stop and interrupt the groove, you want to keep going and going. In 1996 Black Apache entered the U.S Army and has since traveled all over the world, and he took his music with him. “Everywhere I have been stationed or temporarily deployed, I found a way to throw a party, and enjoy music. Since 1998 Black Apache Emphasized with exposing his Panamanian artist counterparts “The Originators of Spanish Reggae” in every CD Black Apache would create he would put tunes from Panama in the mix, artists such as Rene Renegado, Danger Man, Japanese, Jr. Ranks, Aldo Ranks, Renato and others were all featured. Since 2006 he added the New York based artist Peter Pana & El Bwoy, Mic Delincuente as well as the Canadian based Fito Blanco to his mixes. “I have heard my mixes roll by in cars with systems booming on many occasions, and it exhilarates me to make more music.” Through any week you can here mixes by Black Apache on Channel 92 (Rumbon) on Sirius Satellite Radio.PLACES I HAVE DJ @Panama: Vibracion Positiva Sound System, Oro Puro Sound System, New York: Biltmore Ballroom (Brooklyn), Act 3 Night Club (Bronx), Happyland (Bronx) Germany: Armstrong’s Club (Kaiserslautern), Reggae Spectrum (Saarbrucken), Special Guess dj 7 times with POW POW movement in Koln, 3 times special guest dj with WADADA Sound System from Koblenz and Redemption sound from Berlin.
