LES BOOGIE was born in the Washington Heights section of New York City to Dominican parents, and moved to Queens when he was eight years old. He started DJing when he was 15 years old. During his six years as a DJ, he worked at a variety of venues. LES BOOGIE went on to study at the Institute of Audio Research where he studied Engineering. Some may ask why mixtapes, why not just produce or engineer, but to him that would not have as much of an impact as getting everyones music to all sectors of the globe that is his goal. LES BOOGIE feels there is a wealth of talented artists from coast to coast, but unfortunately, they aren't promoted beyond the local level. LES BOOGIE is out to change that. "My goal is to spread music made in New York to the West Coast," says Les Boogie, "and get the West Coast music and bring it back here to New York. So, it's a movement. That's my whole objective: to bring everything together. For example, New York is not being represented elsewhere, And on local radio stations you rarely hear a Local reggaeton or Latin Hip Hop artist, You don't hear Los Angeles acts like Kinto Sol and Akwid here in New York. It's not right. There are many Mexicans out here, and there are Dominican and Puerto Ricans out there in LA. I decided I wanted to make this movement as big as it can be."
