Having been at the forefront of the Japanese Hardcore scene since its inception, DJ Uraken is synonymous with energetic, uplifting and powerful Hardcore music. Delivering in his own unique, distinctive style, crowns him Japan’ s No.1 Hardcore DJ.
As well as his impressive list of DJ appearances, Uraken pioneered his own monthly event. Hardcore Kitchen which opened its doors in 1996 and was the first event of its kind in Japan, showcasing UK Hardcore.
Uraken’s production work has been highly acclaimed amongst the Hardcore fraternity worldwide, a regular in the boxes of the top jocks. Uraken's impressive release itinerary include: 'DJ Uraken ‘I Need Your Lovin' 12 inch, on legendary UK Hardcore label, Remix Records; the hardcore anthem ‘Misono/Konomama’ (Uraken Remix) on Masterwax and more recently the high profile: Uraken ‘Wizards Of The Sonic’ which weighed in at No.1 at Trackitdown Hardcore chart for several weeks.
This background goes on to include Uraken’s mix compilation 'Happy Mania' through Polydor and the more recent compilation album 'Hardcore Rave 1 & 2' on his own label U Records. A perfect blend of music for the Hardcore congregation!
In August 2002, DJ Uraken also started a live streaming internet radio show, on the worlds most popular hardcore website: 'Happyhardcore.com'. Thus the stage for his activities propelled him far and wide beyond the Japanese scene. Uraken went on to set up an online record store http://www.u-records.jp. 2006 then saw the launch of Uraken’s U Digital label on Trackitdown and IMO download sites.
Uraken has graced the British shores, when invited to perform at the prominent UK rave event, Future Dance, giving the dance floor of good dose of the Japanese approach. 2007 saw an international tour of Australia, promoting and educating the antipodean crowd to the Uraken sound.
